Cherokee County Historical Museum Hosts 2017 Festival Of Trees

What started as an idea to help decorate the 6,000 square feet of the Cherokee County History Museum for the holidays has now grown into a yearly festival. Now in its 3rd year, the Festival of Trees at the Museum features 11 trees, a staircase and a table decoration submitted by numerous community clubs and organizations.

Members of the public are encouraged to not only come by and view the trees but also cast your vote for your favorite. Kathy Marko, Curator of the Cherokee County Museum explains how the contest works –

You can only cast one vote per tree but you can vote for all the trees or numerous trees. Marko said that she would like to extend her appreciation to all the groups and individuals that participated in this year’s Festival of Trees and hopes that next year will be even bigger and better.

The Cherokee County Historical Museum is located at 101 East Main Street next door to the Cherokee County Courthouse. For more information you can call Kathy Marko at 256-927-7835.
