Chattooga County, Georgia Sheriff Mark Schrader informed WEIS Radio News that a tractor trailer overturned on Taylor’s Ridge at around 6:00am Central Wednesday morning.

The big rig, which was reportedly hauling large rolls of paper, was traveling northbound up the ridge when the load shifted causing the truck to overturn and land in a ditch on the side of Highway 27.  The cargo had to be offloaded while the truck was uprighted and towed away.  It took some time to clear the roadway and load the huge rolls of paper onto alternate transport, causing traffic to be down to one lane for much of the time, and to be shut down completely at other times.

It appears the driver was only shaken up during the mishap – fortunately, no other vehicles were involved.
