Derry Richardson Home Brings $390,000 at Auction Saturday Morning as Part of Civil Action

The Summerville home of former Floyd County School System Maintenance Director Derry Richardson sold for $390,000 at auction on Saturday morning.

The auction was part of a settlement to the civil action against Richardson and others, who are accused of stealing millions from the school system.  The criminal case against Richardson and several others will reportedly continue in spite of the civil settlement.  Proceeds from the sale of over 600 items, including Richardson’s Summerville residence at 241 River Bluff Drive, several vehicles, ATV’s, construction equipment, home furnishings, tools, and many other items of all descriptions – including a collection of more than 50 guns along with ammunition – will help to recover some of those funds.

It’s estimated that the auction raised more than $1,000,000.
