Mrs. Safiah “Louise” Pettitt

Safiah “Louise” Pettitt, age 78, Collinsville, AL, died 11/11/2017 at the Collinsville Health Care & Rehab, Collinsville, AL.

Mrs. Pettitt was born on February 10, 1939 in Cleburne County, Alabama. She graduated from Massey Business College.  She married Herman Pettitt, her husband of 58 years on July 1, 1956. After marrying, she was a homemaker, she loved her family and enjoyed raising her four “boys.” She was a member of the New Testament Holiness Church of Fort Payne, AL, where she enjoyed being an usher and assisting in the church for many years.  She believed in supporting the Gospel of Jesus Christ and had the gift of talking with other people and never met a stranger.

She was preceded in death by her parents, David Ezra “Eb” and Julia (Benefield) Terrell; husband, Herman and son, Greg; sisters, Minnie Odessa Terrell, and Martha (Terrell) Robards; brothers, Needham, Jeff, Bernard, I.L “Dick”, Cornell and Jim Terrell.

She is survived by her sons, Gene (Angela) Pettitt, Tony Pettitt, Tracy (Sherri) Pettitt; granddaughters, Brittany, Taylor and Amy Pettitt; sister, Marie (Terrell) Smallwood and brother David (Robin) Terrell; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Collinsville Healthcare & Rehab, nurses and staff of the Alzheimer’s Unit for the special care provided to their mother. The family would also like to thank the community, friends and family for their prayers and support during their mother’s extended illness.

Funeral service will be 2 P.M. on Wednesday November 15th at the Perry Funeral Home, Centre, AL.  Pastor Autry Barnhill will officiate. Burial will be at the New Testament Holiness Church Cemetery in the Mount Vernon Community.  Visitation will be at 12P.M. to 2P.M.
