Hobson City Man Charged With Murder In Connection To Saturday Night Shooting

A 24 year old Hobson City Man is being charged with Murder after he shot and killed a man on Bradford Street in Hobson City on Saturday night.

According to Calhoun County Sheriff Matthew Wade at approximately 10:20 p.m. Saturday the Sheriff’s Office received a call of a black male had been shot outside of the residence with deputies arriving on scene within six minutes of the call discovering a deceased black male from a gunshot wound to the torso.

Witnesses on the scene were able to identify the suspect to the deputies who requested Anniston Police to check a location in their city.  Anniston Police were able to locate the suspect. Sheriff’s Investigators were able to gather facts that described the victim and suspect were at a party, and they got into an argument that led to the shooting. 

Suspect Tavarrius Breon Lucas a 24-year-old black male from Hobson City was arrested for Murder.  His bond and court date are pending.

The name of the victim is being withheld until the coroner has ensured all of the family has been notified.
