Starbucks releases holiday cups inspired by coloring books

Starbucks(NEW YORK) — Starbucks has released its annual holiday cups, offering a first-ever “color-in” cup, and foregoing the traditional red cups.

According to a press release, the cup design “starts with a pair of hands holding red cups of coffee, an ode to cups of years past, connected with swirling ribbons with lively holiday scenes and splashes of red and green.”

Starbucks’ Executive Creative Director Leanne Fremar said the cup is “intentionally designed to encourage our customers to add their own color and illustrations.”

“We love the idea of everyone making this year’s cup their own.”

Last year’s design cups featured 13 different designs created by Starbucks customers.

Starbucks also says the seasonal cup sleeves — used for hot drinks — will be red with a invitation to “Give Good.” That phrase, the company adds, will be the theme for this year’s holiday campaign.”
