A Gadsden woman has been jailed on a felony charge of Chemical Endangerment of a Child.

Bridgette Deann Smith, age 32 is currently lodged in the Etowah County Detention Center – and is being held on a $10,000 cash bond.  As a condition, should bail be granted, she would be required to successfully complete a drug treatment program, and must be supervised by the community corrections program of Etowah County.

Both she and her baby tested positive for benzos and amphetamine.
