Two Hurt in Two-Vehicle Accident on Highway 411 South Monday Night

A two-vehicle wreck taking place Monday night on Highway 411 south of Centre resulted in two people being taken for treatment.

According to Centre Police Chief Kirk Blankenship the accident took place at approximately 8:20pm and involved a 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe, driven by McKenzie Nicole Gillam, age 17 of Opelika and a 1997 Chevy Blazer being driven by 38 year old Charles Edward Sanford, Jr. of a Gaylesville address.

Gillam was carried by private vehicle to Cherokee Medical Center – meanwhile Sanford was transported by Cherokee EMS to Gadsden Regional for treatment.

The cause of that accident remains under investigation by the Centre Police Department.
