The Student Veterans of America at Gadsden State Community College made a contribution to the American Red Cross to assist those veterans affected by recent hurricanes and other natural disasters.

“Many veterans were affected by Hurricane Harvey and Hurricane Rita all across the southeast,” said Linda Morris, advisor of SVA. “It meant a great deal to our membership to assist veterans in the disaster areas.”

According to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, there were 510,015 veterans within the areas impacted by Hurricane Harvey and the resulting tropical storms.
