There was a two vehicle crash involving a passenger car and an 18 wheeler in front of the Centre Wal-Mart on West Main Street at 12:04 this afternoon. According to the Centre Police Department accident report the accident involved a 2002 Toyota Echo being driven by 34 year old Lisa Pate of Hayden, Alabama and a 2016 Peterbilt driven by 51 year old Arden Adams of Hopkins, Michigan.

According to the report, Pate was taken by Cherokee EMS ground units to Cherokee Medical Center for treatment of injuries.

Those dispatched to the scene were; the Centre Police Department, Centre Fire Department, Cherokee EMS and Rescue Squad personnel.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
