Mr. Lloyd “Slick” Casselman

Mr. Lloyd “Slick” Casselman, age 96, of Centre, passed away Sunday October 1st at Gadsden Regional Medical Center.

Funeral service will be 11 A.M. Thursday October 5th at Perry Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ricky Pollard and Rev. Eugene Burgess officiating. Burial will follow at Cherokee Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 10 A.M. to 11 A.M. Thursday.

Pallbearers include Max Chambers, Bill Trammell, Jerry Benefield, Tony Hanson, Tommy Garner, and Graham Tolbert.

Survivors include sons Michael Casselman of Tampa, FL., Michael Jenson of Dallas, TX.; daughters Kathy Daily of Dallas,TX., Donna Searcy of Tony, AL., Wanda Lund of Huntsville, AL., Betty Turner of Huntsville, AL., Debra Calhoun of Huntsville, AL.; sister Shirley Goodwich of Ithaca, NY., 16 grandchildren; several great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife B.J. Casselman.

Mr. Casselman was born in Norwood, New York, and has lived in Centre since 1985. He is the son of the late Clifford and Margaret Pitts Casselman, was a veteran of WWII where he served in Normandy, France, Belgium, Holland, and Germany. He was a devoted member of Pine Grove Baptist Church.  He retired from Alcoa in 1982, after 41 years of service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pine Grove Baptist Church or a favorite charity.
