Centre Man Arrested On Warrants After Officers Receive A ‘Suspicious Vehicle’ Call

According to Piedmont Police Chief Freddie Norton, his department received a call of a suspicious occupied vehicle that had went to a residence on Cherokee County Road 2 in the southern portion of the county asking to look for arrowheads on the property.

The resident told them no, so the individuals, a male and a female left. Their vehicle was located a short distance away backed into the woods where a female subject was detained. Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrived on scene and called for a K-9 Unit about the same time the male subject was located.

According to Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver, 43 year old Marcus Shane Twilley was taken into custody by Lt. Bo Jolly and Sgt. Gene Knowles on warrants for Theft of Property 4th Degree and a Probation Violation.

Chief Norton said that Twilley will not face charges through his agency.
