Gaylesville Woman Charged With Arson In Connection To A Fire On County Road 81

According to Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver, investigators from the Sheriff’s Office have charged a suspect in an arson case. 

The suspected arson occurred at a residence on County Road 81, and fire departments from Broomtown, Gaylesville, Cedar Bluff, and Tucker’s Chapel responded to the blaze.  

Major Crimes Unit Investigators Jordan Kelley and Leigha Blake processed the fire scene.

Cherokee County Fire/Arson Investigator Kelley obtained a warrant for Second Degree Arson for 32 year old Melissa G. Holloway of Gaylesville. 

The suspect is currently incarcerated in Whitefield County, Georgia, on unrelated charges and will be extradited to Cherokee County upon release.
