An excellent program designed to provide children with special needs an exciting, fun-filled day on the lake is coming to Cherokee County on Saturday (September 23rd).
Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Theresa Hulgan tells us more:
The C.A.S.T. for Kids Foundation is a public charity that was formed in 1991 – and designed to create an environment in which special needs children and their caretakers could benefit by leaving their problems on shore and sharing a day of fun on the water that they may not otherwise get to experience.
The C.A.S.T. for Kids Foundation also furthers its mission by helping increase awareness of disabled and disadvantaged children in communities and teaching appreciation for natural resources.
Again, volunteers are still needed for this event. To find out how you can play a part in that special day-on-the-lake for a special needs child contact the Chamber of Commerce at (256) 927-8455.
