Troopers Investigate Three Labor Day Weekend Traffic Fatalities and One Drowning

Alabama State Troopers investigated three traffic fatalities, and a drowning, over the Labor Day weekend.  Between 12:01am Friday, September 1st and midnight Monday, September 4th Troopers investigated fatal traffic crashes in Blount, Wilcox and Chilton counties. All three of the individuals killed were driving vehicles equipped with seat belts; only one of the drivers was buckled up.  Still, the weekend fatality total was 40% below the 2016 Labor Day weekend total, when Troopers investigated five traffic deaths.

Troopers in the Marine Patrol Division investigated a drowning on Logan Martin Lake; they investigated one drowning during the same holiday weekend the year before.
