A Mentone man involved in a single-vehicle accident along County Road 77 during the early morning hours of Sunday was arrested on a DUI charge afterwards.
According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency accident report the wreck took place at 5:00am around three miles east of Gaylesville, with the driver, who was listed on the report as being 31 year old Britt Vaden Heinrich of Mentone, receiving minor injuries. Information posted on the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office website listed Heinrich as being booked into jail on a charge of DUI/Controlled Substance at 10:00am.
He currently remains in the Cherokee County Detention Center awaiting setting of bond.
The accident report indicated that Heinrich was wearing his seat belt at the time the wreck took place.
