Jimmy Franklin Vernon, 25, of Gadsden, was arrested and charged with one count of first degree robbery, a felony and one count of fourth degree theft of property, a misdemeanor, investigator Will Farley said.
Vernon allegedly went into a residence on Haney Road, Gadsden, and robbed a male victim at gun point.

He then took a backpack containing miscellaneous electronic equipment.

During the robbery, Vernon hit the victim with the gun causing a laceration on his head.
The firearm used during the robbery has been recovered and identified as a stolen weapon in Gadsden. The backpack was also recovered.
Vernon was booked into the Etowah County Detention Center and is being held without bond.
