A Sand Rock man has been arrested on charges of Aggravated Cruelty to Animals.
According to Sheriff Jeff Shaver, on Wednesday afternoon deputies responded to a report of a fight at a home in the Sand Rock community – however the suspect, who was identified as 31 year old Colby Stuart Brunson, fled the scene prior to the arrival of law enforcement.

He was quickly located at another residence nearby, and taken into custody.
He was arrested in connection with the fight and is also accused of shooting a dog. Investigators also recovered another dog, unharmed, and returned it to the owner.

Brunson was then transported to the Cherokee County Detention Center, where he remains awaiting setting of bond.
