iStock/Thinkstock(MINNEAPOLIS) — The Minnesota Twins are close to acquiring left-handed starter Jaime Garcia in a trade with the Atlanta Braves for a minor league player, according to ESPN sources.
Garcia has a history of shoulder trouble and was 10-13 with a 4.67 ERA for the Braves last season.
Garcia spent most of his injury-interrupted career with the St. Louis Cardinals before he was acquired by the Braves in an offseason trade.
In his eight seasons with St. Louis he went 62-45 with a 3.57 ERA. In 2011, he won a World Series with the Cardinals.
