Two Arrested After Allegedly Selling Drugs to Undercover Informants

Two people have been placed under arrest after allegedly selling drugs to several witnesses buying undercover for law enforcement officials at the Marathon convenience store located on the Gadsden Highway in Cave Spring at the Alabama/Georgia state line.

According to reports – Laila Salim Budhwani, age 44 of Rome, and 53 year old Salim Sherali Budhwani age 53 of Taylorsville sold SPICE (also known as synthetic marijuana) on several occasions in 2016 – once each on May 5th, May 31st and July 7th – and twice each May 19th and July 27th.

Salim Budhwani is charged with Trafficking Illegal Drugs, Sale of a Schedule I or Controlled Substance, the Possession of Schedule I Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute and three counts of Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Substance.

Laila Budhwani has been charged with seven counts each of Sale of a Schedule I Controlled Substance, Possession of Schedule I Controlled Substance and with Possession of Schedule I Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute.
