A portion of Centre was left without power for a short period of time during the early hours of Monday due to a tree falling across power lines on Northwood Drive, leaving residents in that area in the dark for around an hour and a half starting about 3:00am.

  Firefighters were also dispatched to cut up a tree and remove it from across the roadway in the Starling Gap area around 7:00am.

Motorists should be cautious when driving this morning, especially on lesser traveled roads where trees may be down and not yet reported.
