An elderly female was airlifted to UAB in Birmingham after becoming pinned underneath a lawnmower at a residence on County Road 915 on Wednesday evening.

Leesburg Fire Chief Jeremy Lee and Cherokee EMS Paramedics arrived on the scene to find the victim suffering numerous lacerations to her leg; reports say the woman was underneath the mower for almost an hour before someone found her.

She was rushed from the scene to the Leesburg FEMA Building where she was taken by Lifesaver Helicopter to UAB, her condition remains unknown.

Leesburg Police also responded to the scene.
