Etowah County Authorities Working To Recover A Truck And Trailer That Rolled Into The Coosa River Over The Weekend

It may be a few days before a truck and trailer can be recovered from the Coosa River, according to Sheriff Todd Entrekin.

Sunday evening, at approximately 7:20 p.m., a truck and boat trailer rolled into the Coosa River, off of a boat ramp, while an individual was attempting to load his boat back onto the trailer.  The incident happened at the ramp located on Croft Ferry Road West, off of Highway 411, Gadsden.

The Etowah County Sheriff’s Office dive team and marine unit attempted to recover the vehicle and trailer this morning.  However, due to the position of the truck and high, swift waters the recover today was unsuccessful.

The roadway near the ramp will be blocked off with barricades.  All boaters are encouraged to stay away from the entrance to the boat ramp on Croft Ferry Road West, off of Highway 411, Gadsden.
