DeKalb County K-9 Yogi Playing Big Role in Drug Arrest Increase

The DeKalb County K-9 Unit made a pair of drug arrests over the past few days – one taking place in Fyffe and one in Sylvania.

On May 25th the Deputy made a traffic stop on Jones Road in Fyffe, and when K-9 Yogi did a check around the vehicle he made a “hit” indicating that drugs were present; a quick search of that vehicle turned up marijuana, resulting in the arrest of 32 year old Rainsville resident Bradley Ryan Williams on a Second Degree Possession of Marijuana charge.

On May 27th, the Deputy conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of 75 and Forest Drive in Sylvania.

The Deputy was joined by a Sylvania Police Officer, and K-9 Yogi once again “hit”, indicating drugs were present in the vehicle.  The officers found several syringes, a pink smoking pipe with green leafy substance, a pair of prescription pills, and a small clear bag that reportedly contained methamphetamine.

The driver, 43 year old Dana Lynn Hurley of Fyffe, was arrested and charged with Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 2nd Degree, Illegal Possession of Prescription Drugs and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
