A pedestrian was injured after apparently being struck by a vehicle outside the Centre Wal-Mart on Tuesday afternoon. Just before 2:00 p.m. a Centre Firefighter radioed 9-1-1 dispatch requesting an ambulance in reference to the incident.
Centre Police and Cherokee EMS responded to the scene. The victim was taken to Redmond Regional Medical Center in Rome for treatment of unspecified injuries. Centre Police Chief Kirk Blankenship said the incident appears to be accidental.
