The Cherokee County Commission held a special called meeting on Tuesday with the only discussion on the agenda being the discussion/appointment of an EMA Director.

The Commission opened the meeting shortly after 4:00 and then adjourned into Executive Session for just over and hour and a half.

Commissioners then returned with Commissioner Kimball Parker nominating Cherokee Co.

Sheriff’s Office Investigator Shawn Rogers to the post, a vote was taken and the decision was unanimous among all the commissioners.

Rogers will fill the position previously held by longtime EMA Director Beverly Daniel who retired earlier this year.
