Rev. Lavonne Humphrey age 45, of Summerville, passed away Thursday April, 13, 2017.

Lavonne was a native of Floyd County Ga. born Oct. 12, 1971 to Rev. Horace Humphrey, and the late Joyce Wilbanks Humphrey. He was employed by Best Gloves, in Menlo. Lavonne was ordained as a Minister on March 14, 2004 by Rev. James Storey, he Pastored West Summerville Baptist Church from 2006 until 2016, also Pastor, at Calhoun Avenue Baptist. Lavonne was raised to Master Mason at Coosa Lodge #622 F&AM January 26, 2004.

Survivors include, his son, Cody Humphrey, Summerville; fiancée, Tammy Parker, father, Rev. Horace Humphrey, Rome; brother, Lemarr (Regina) Humphrey, Rome; sister, Denise (Jeff) Crane, Cedar Bluff; grandfather, Herschel Rose, Rome; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Monday April 17, 2017 at Good Shepherd Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Jim VanPelt, officiating. Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Sunday from 5 until 8 P.M. at Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 2750 Shorter Ave. Rome, Ga. 30165.

Pallbearers include the following gentlemen and are asked to meet at funeral home by 12:30 P.M. on Monday, Cody Humphrey, Lemarr Humphrey, Dustin Humphrey, Jimmy Wilbanks, Jason Brewster, and Tommy Storey.
