Mr. William “Rex” Wheeling age 84 of Centre passed away Saturday April 15th at Northside Health Care.

Funeral services will be 1 PM Thursday April 20th at Perry Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Eugene Burgess and Bro. Ric Manning officiating, burial will follow in Cherokee Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 11 AM until 1 PM Thursday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers include Kaleb Silver, Tyler Dart, Adam Goodwin, Robert Steele, Johnny Steele, Michael Steele and Daniel Steele. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jim Silver, Dave Dent and R.L. Steele.

Survivors include daughters, Kathy (Jim) Silver of Leesburg and Wanda (Dave) Dent of Union Grove, Al.; 4 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Evelyn McGatha Wheeling and granddaughter, LeAnn Moore.

Mr. Wheeling was a native of Cherokee County and the son of the late Johnny and Eddie Steele Wheeling and was of the Baptist faith.
