Mr. Harold “Bunk” Higgins age 93 of Leesburg passed away on Thursday April 13th at his residence.
Funeral services will be at 3 PM Tuesday April 18th at Perry Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Danny Farley and Bro. Bobby Kitchens officiating, burial will follow in Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 until 3 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers include Gary Sewell, Hal Sewell, Mike Sewell, Billy Davis, Stevie Davis, Joe Scherich, George Lystlund, Harry Foster and Tom Wolf. Honorary Pallbearers include Gramlin Dupree, Joe Woodall, Bob Woodall, Harry Kitchens and Alex Smith.
Survivors include wife, Mary Louise Woodall Higgins of Leesburg; sons, Jeff (Stacy) Higgins of Centre, Ernie (Claire) Higgins of West Palm Beach, Fl. and Dan (Jo Ellen) Higgins of Springfield, Il.; sister, Betty Sewell of Leesburg; 8 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; special thanks, Marsha Armstrong, Jan Mitchell, Tammy Wheeler, Sharon Chandler and Jackie Dupree.
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Geraldine Brown and Mildred Davis.
Mr. Higgins was a native of Cherokee County and the son of the late Earnest Alfred and Vela Richardson Higgins and a member of Shiloh Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shiloh Baptist Church and family request no food please.
