New unemployment claims fall lower

iStock/Thinkstock(WASHINGTON) — Jobless claims fell lower last week, decreasing by 25,000, according to the latest figures released Thursday by the Labor Department.

For the week ending April 1, the number of people filing for benefits fell from revised level of 259,000 the previous week to 234,000.

Now at 250,000, four-week moving average decreased by 4,500 from last week’s revised average of 254,500.
