Gadsden Police are reporting that two women were hit by a car as they were in a crosswalk in front of the Etowah County Courthouse just before noon Monday.
The driver of the Nissan, a 42 year old male, was traveling westbound on Forrest Avenue as he approached the pair but according to reports was simply unable to stop in time.
Both women were taken to an area hospital for treatment – no information regarding their injuries has been released.
Police say at this point, no charges have been filed in connection with the incident.
