Sergeant Robin Snider the DARE coordinator for the state of Alabama, recently came to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office to present School Resource/DARE Officer Lieutenant Anthony Bartley with the DARE officer of the year award.

Sheriff Harris says “Lieutenant Bartley started in 1992 at the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office as a jailer he was then he was promoted to Chief Jail Administrator in 1994. He has also worked as a Deputy, and then in 1995 he became a School Resource/ DARE Officer for the DeKalb County School System and worked his way up to Lieutenant School Resource/DARE Supervisor. Lieutenant Bartley has put in a lot of hard work and long hours coordinating the DARE program between all of the other School Resource Officers, the DeKalb County School System, and DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office.
