The Alabama Department of Transportation advises motorists that Norfolk Southern will close the railroad crossing at Alabama 35/Fifth Street Northeast just east of U.S. 11/Gault Avenue in Fort Payne from about 8:00am to midnight Wednesday, March 29th.
Motorists are advised to expect delays and use alternate routes while work on the railroad crossing is in progress. The detour for traffic from U.S. 11/Gault Avenue is Eighth Street Northeast to Godfrey Avenue to Alabama 35/Fifth Street. The detour for traffic from Alabama 35/Fifth Street is Godfrey Avenue to 22nd Street Southeast to U.S. 11/Gault Avenue.
