Five Injured in County Road 48 Accident on Sunday

A total of five people were injured in a single-vehicle wreck on County Road 48 in Cherokee County on Sunday morning, with reports indicating that possibly two of those hurt were air –lifted from the scene to Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga while the remaining three were carried by ground transport to a hospital in Ft Payne for treatment.

According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency accident report, the crash took place at approximately 11:30am and involved a 2001 Ford driven by 32 year old Rhonda Herren – a passenger in the vehicle was 38 year old Daniel Herren.  Both were listed as being residents of Henagar in DeKalb County.

There were also three juveniles in the vehicle, ages 5, 12 and 15.  No additional information regarding the condition of any of those involved has yet been released

The cause of that accident remains under investigation by state troopers.
