A 63 year old Cherokee County man was killed while cutting down a tree on his property in the Spring Garden community on Thursday.

Jeremy Deaton, around 5:00pm, Cherokee County 9-1-1 was notified that someone at a location off of Highway 278, had suffered an injury while cutting down a tree.

Upon arrival, the Piedmont Rescue Squad found that the tree had actually fallen on the man – taking his life. Dr. Deaton was called to the scene and the victim – identified as Jackie Dale Bramlett – was pronounced dead at the scene at 5:16pm.
The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office also responded.
