Accused killer Larry Bodily was scheduled to be back in court in Cherokee County Thursday (March 23rd) for a preliminary hearing in front of Judge Wes Mobley, however that hearing was postponed. The reason for postponement was reportedly a scheduling conflict with Bodily’s attorney Milford Lee Cushen of the Ft Payne-based firm of Killian & Cushen.
Bodily, age 48 stands charged with the murder of his mother, 68 year old Karen Willmon, and he has been held in the Cherokee County Detention Center on a bond of $500,000 since his arrest on February 19th (2017). A preliminary autopsy report from the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences stated the victim died from multiple gunshot wounds and blunt force trauma to the head.
A new date for the hearing has yet to be set.
