A total of three drug arrests were made Monday in Cherokee County with one local resident being taken into custody along with one from Etowah County and one from DeKalb County.

Jason Curtis McSpadden, age 35 from Centre was charged with the Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia; Zach Shondale Smith age 43 from Gadsden, was charged with Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – while Brittany Nicole Owens, 27 of Rainsville, was charged with Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Both Smith and Owens were booked into jail shortly after 12:00 noon; and McSpadden was booked in around 4:30 that afternoon.

All three remain in the Cherokee County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing.
