Cedar Bluff Town Council Cancels Liberty Day Celebration Due To Lack Of Funding

The Cedar Bluff Town Council has voted to cancel the  Liberty Day Celebration for this year due to a lack of funding. Numerous attempts have been made to collect donations and some have been made but not nearly enough to cover the cost of the event.

No donations have been made through Town Hall.

Council-members agreed that with numerous streets and roads within the town in dire need of repair there is simply no way they can justify spending  the money for Liberty Day versus having to repair those roads. During last years Liberty Day, the town posted a loss of over $3,000.

Mayor Crane also noted that there have been no vendor applications submitted at this point where as usually they have already began to come in.

In other business the council voted to adopt a Resolution accepting a grant from ADECA for upgrades to the Cedar Bluff Park, that grant is in the amount of $24, 150. The council also voted to move forward with reclaiming of both Money’s Bend Road and also Lake Place Lane.

The council also agreed to surplus a garbage truck and place the vehicle on Govdeals.com with a minimum reserve of $50,000.
