Four people were arrested this week at a residence on County Road 300, according to Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver. On Tuesday, investigators arrested Jamie D. Elliot, 35, of Piedmont for unlawful possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, third degree receiving stolen property, and obscuring the identity of a vehicle. Investigators recovered methamphetamine and a stolen firearm at the residence.
Investigators Michael Green and Jeremy Stepps and Deputy Jordan Kelley returned to the property and located a larger amount of methamphetamine. Tracy B. Shell, 46 of Piedmont was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled with intent to distribute, unlawful possession of marijuana, and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Shell was also wanted on seven outstanding warrants, including failure to appears and bond revocations. Misti L. Cheeks, 40 of Piedmont and Gerald M. Taylor, 43 of Cedartown, Georgia, were both charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.
All four suspects were transported to the Cherokee County Detention Center, where they remain awaiting bond.
