Bond Set For Centre Man Charged With Killing His Mother

According to Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver, bond was set for accused murderer, Larry Bodily, in the amount of $500,000 by District Judge Wes Mobley on Wednesday, February 22, 2017.

A preliminary autopsy report from the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences stated the victim, Karen Willmon, died from multiple gun shot wounds and blunt force head trauma, according to Chief Investigator Josh Summerford.

Sheriff Shaver reiterated his appreciation for the investigators who worked so diligently on this case and for the assistance from Sheriff’s Offices in Etowah, Calhoun, Jefferson, Floyd and Polk Counties, the Cherokee County Coroner’s Office, the ALEA Aviation Unit, the Cherokee County Major Crimes Unit, and the JSU Center for Applied Forensics.

No other information can be released at this time, as the case remains under investigation by the Major Crimes Unit.
