All four lanes of Highway 9 in front of the Piggly Wiggly in Cedar Bluff were shutdown as paramedics, firefighters and police officers worked a two car crash that sent four people to Cherokee Medical Center just before 6:00 p.m. Tuesday evening.

Cedar Bluff Police and Fire Departments with Cherokee EMS units were dispatched to the scene. All four lanes of traffic were closed while medics assessed, treated  and removed victims from the vehicles and firefighters applied  drying agent to the roadway where excessive amounts of oil and fluids leaked from both vehicles.

The exact cause of the accident is under investigation by Cedar Bluff Police.
