According to reports out of neighboring Chattooga County a Summerville Police Officer was following up on a complaint about someone driving erratically Wednesday afternoon, when he saw a truck fitting the description that he’d been given moments earlier.

He followed the vehicle into the parking lot of Advance Auto Parts on Commerce Street, and as he watched, the truck stopped, then suddenly accelerated, jumped the curb and slammed into the front of the store traveled across the floor and crashed into the store’s counter.

Incredibly, neither the elderly driver nor any store employees were hurt in the incident.

The matter remains under investigation by the Summerville Police Department.
