The vote by the Senate Judiciary Committee regarding President Trump’s pick for Attorney General has been postponed until January 31st reportedly to allow for further review of the approximately 200 pages of written responses submitted by Alabama Senator Jeff Sessions.
According to Senator Dianne Feinstein, ranking member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, (quote) “This committee must have enough time to fully consider Senator Sessions’ record to evaluate his answers to our questions and to determine what kind of attorney general he will be, if confirmed.” (end-quote)
Sessions’ needs only a simple majority of 50 votes to pass the Senate floor, and Republicans have a 52 seat majority.
