“Shooting Victim” Arrested in Connection with Other Incidents

A man initially referred to as a “shooting victim” is now being referred to as a “perpetrator”.

22 year old Trion, Georgia resident Justin Clay Carroll was shot in the chest while inside the residence of a homeowner on Mill Village Road in Lyerly around 12:30am last Wednesday.

Reportedly, not much else is known at this time, because neither Carroll or the homeowner is saying much about the incident.

Following the shooting Carroll was transported to the hospital for treatment – and has since been charged with robbery, and drug-related offenses; both are apparently unrelated to the incident occurring on Mill Village Road.

Chattooga County Sheriff Mark Schrader says the robbery charge stems from an incident at Mt. Vernon Mills on December 22nd as Carroll allegedly performed a strong-arm robbery in the parking lot taking $190 from the victim’s wallet; he allegedly assaulted the victim in the process. When he was picked up on the robbery and assault charges in the parking lot of an area convenience store at around 3:30 last Friday morning – he was reportedly found to be in possession of a meth pipe, leading to the drug charges.
