Scott Clarke / ESPN Images(TORONTO) — Free-agent slugger Jose Bautista is reportedly close to reaching a deal with the Toronto Blue Jays.
Fox Sports reports Bautista, 36, and the Blue Jays were in talks Monday morning over a two-year contract worth up to $40 million.
Back in November, the slugger turned down a one-year, $17.2 million deal from Toronto, pushing him into free agency.
Bautista has been with the Blue Jays for the majority of his professional career, since 2008.
