Betty Ruth McDougal, age 80, passed December 27th in Birmingham, Al.
She was the greatest wife, mother, Mama, aunt , sister and friend.
She was born April 8, 1936 to Ollie & Bertie Bullock growing up in the Knighton Crossroads area where she attended Roy Webb and graduated from Jacksonville High school in 1954.
She married Douglas McDougal in 1956 while he was attending Auburn University. As a civil engineer, they lived in many states. She made friends in towns and cities across the country. In 1964,moving to Texas, she met her best, life long friend Helen Terry. She was friends with everyone she met and mother to so many more.
She loved to bowl, fish, listen to gospel and bluegrass music, cheered for karaoke singers and was quite the gambler. She never missed a Braves game and was the number 1 fan for Auburn Football. WAR EAGLE! !
She was preceded in death by her son Don McDougal, husband Douglas McDougal, brother Gwin Bullock, sisters Beatrice Smith and Frances “Bill” Camp.
She was Survived by her children Dan and Renee McDougal, Treva McDougal Artimisi and Mailman, Suzie McDougal Batten and J. O.; 8 Grandchildren Justin and Jen McDougal, Tyler Watts, Anna and Sam Robinson, Ariel Terbrueggen, Maddie McDougal and Jake McDougal
Adopted children John and Janette Hubbard. three Sisters Loretta Sauls, Shirley Bullock and Bobbie June Tyree.
She stayed on the sunny side of life and was always ready for a party. Please join her family and friends for a celebration of BR on January 7, 2017 from 4:00 – 10:00pm at UCP 101 Olso Circle, Birmingham, AL 35211
