One lane of traffic is blocked on the causeway between Centre and Cedar Bluff this morning due to a mechanical problem with a log truck.

Apparently, the drive shaft of the vehicle dropped, ripping a hole in a fuel tank, which has in turn caused a small amount of diesel fuel to leak onto the highway near the state docks.

The fuel leak, which is estimated to be somewhere around 15 gallons, has had drying agent applied to prevent any contamination to the water.

Additional safety measures are being put into place to contain the spill, and prevent further leakage until the vehicle can be removed from the scene.

Again, slow down and exercise caution until the roadway has been cleared on the causeway between Centre and Cedar Bluff near the state docks.
