Atalla Man Arrested After Homeowner Catches Him Burglarizing His Home

Etowah County Sheriff Todd Entrekin says an Attalla man has been arrested in connection to a recent burglary.

Investigator Adam Chapman said that 29 year old Nicholas Scott Swann of Attalla, is charged with one count of second degree burglary, a felony.

Swann allegedly broke into a residence on December 27th, located on Valley Drive, and was attempting to steal a laptop computer when the homeowner heard Swann inside the home.  The resident told Swann to leave, walked him out the front door and then called 9-1-1.

Sgt. Paul Williams, Jr., found the suspect that fit the clothing description given by the homeowner, walking down Highway 11. Swann stated to investigators that he was on drugs the night of the burglary.

He is being detained in the Etowah County Detention Center on $5,000 bond for the burglary warrant.  Swann is also currently on probation for breaking/entering vehicles.
