Your Body: Consuming the Right Amount of High Protein Foods

From protein bars to protein shakes, adding that extra bit of protein has become the latest trend in diets, and some swear by the health benefits. Here’s what you should know about protein in your diet:

Since I got a degree in nutrition, I’ve learned a lot more about protein. For one thing, everyone needs different amounts of protein. The amount varies based on your size and your activity level.

Also, not all protein is created equally. There are lots of delicious plant sources of protein. Pea protein is the hot new kid on the block, as well as lean animal protein and dairy protein.

But just remember, you can consume too much. So go online and find the formula to calculate exactly how much you need per day.
