Several Arrested in Connection with Cherokee County Burglary and Theft Cases

According to Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver, on Monday (December 5th), investigators arrested several people in connection with a number of burglary and theft cases which took place over the last two weeks,

Matthew Ray Long, age 34 and Patricia Kay Long, 33 – both of Leesburg – were charged with Burglary 3rd Degree, and the Theft of Lost Property 1st Degree – in addition to the Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, and with Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia; that, in connection to a burglary in the Leesburg area.  

Three Gaylesville residents and one Cedar Bluff man were all arrested in connection with a series of burglaries in those areas.

Anthony Matthew Gilreath, 26 was charged with three counts of Burglary, Theft of Property 2nd Degree, Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance, the Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Resisting Arrest and Attempting to Elude – and Steven Paul Warren, age 19, stands charged with Breaking and Entering a Motor Vehicle, Theft of Property 2nd Degree, and Receiving Stolen Property 4th Degree.  Justin Caleb Sheppard, age 22, was charged with Receiving Stolen Property 4th Degree, while Robert Lester Dodd, age 46 of Cedar Bluff, was charged with Receiving Stolen Property 3rd Degree.

All of the suspects were transported to the Cherokee County Detention Center – where they await bond.  According to Chief Investigator Josh Summerford, investigators were also able to recover several items of stolen property.
